New Tournament Format
Starting with the 2026-27 season, some of our tournaments have a new 3 day format. All tournaments that have the Elite and Junior/Youth Provincials will be 3 days, and the other tournaments will be either 2 or 3 days as they are subject to the organizer. If a tournament is 3 days, the weekend is the same, but a Friday evening session is added. Please check the schedules carefully!
All Female Boxing Trip
Boxing Alberta is planning an all female boxing trip to Port Coquitlam in BC. The trip will be from September 18-21st and all divisions and ages are welcome. Discipline Committee
The discipline committee is looking to get some more people who would like to volunteer and help out with the cases Boxing Alberta receives. If you, or someone you know, is interested in helping out, please reach out to the office at albertaboxing@gmail.com or 780-427-6515. No experience is needed and is best if the person is non-biased.
Competing Internationally
If any athletes or coaches are planning to compete at an international boxing event, be sure to fill out an International Travel Permit. You can find this document in the documents section of our website. Once it is filled out, send it to the office and both Boxing Alberta and Boxing Canada will sign it. Without a completed permit, those wishing to travel and compete will not be permitted to do so. Contact the office you have any questions.
Fees for 2026-27 Season
Competitive athletes – $120
Coaches and Officials – $100
Recreational athletes – $20
Club sanctions – $100
Tournament sanctions – $500
Pro-Am sanctions – $500
Boxing Canada Announces Membership to World Boxing
Effective immediately, Boxing Canada will be terminating its membership with IBA to become a member of World Boxing. This decision has been carefully considered and aligns with our commitment to advancing the interests of boxing in Canada and on the international stage.

Coaching Certification Requirements
Come September 2023, coaches are required to be Beginners Instruction (level 1) certified to corner (the coach in the ring). Please see the letter pertaining to this.
